Recovery

From Ruins To Renewal

From supporting small businesses to rebuilding homes, restoring a baseball diamond, and connecting survivors with vital resources, our goal is to ensure Western North Carolina thrives.

MEET GRACE:
A survivor’s story of the storm

Grace and her children are among the many families whose lives were turned upside down by Hurricane Helene. In this heartfelt video, she shares her journey of resilience—and how Catholic Charities helped her family find hope, healing, and even joy in the aftermath.

Revitalizing Local Economies

Since November, Catholic Charities has been providing micro-grants to Asheville artists—and we’re just getting started.

With our $250,000 commitment to support recovery in the River Arts District, we’re finding creative ways to support recovery and ensure this vibrant community thrives again. This funding helps cover studio rent and repairs, replace essential art supplies, provide housing and furnishings, and offer direct financial assistance to restore the creative businesses that form the heart of the Asheville community.

110+ Homes Rebuilt

We’re helping individuals and families in Western North Carolina return home—stronger and more secure than before.

So far, more than 110 homes impacted by Hurricane Helene have been repaired or fully rebuilt, with more underway. Families are not only returning to safe homes with new furniture and appliances, but also gaining resources to heal and thrive.

Thank you to our partners that make it all possible.
